Research Newsletter - July 2022

Summer fun

For some, summer is a time to focus on writing proposals or finishing up research papers. For others, it’s about field work, student internships, or a long-needed vacation. A change of pace can offer a relief from stress and strain and promises to free up creativity for research and innovation - so get out there!

In the CALS Office of Research and Discovery, we’re using the summer for field tours (fun!) and a bit of training so we can do our jobs better. We’re also working to simplify processes for managing capacity funds via the Ag Experiment Station – for us and for you.

Summer is here! Get out there and make some discoveries.

What other things are we working on to get ready for the coming year?

  • Deploying an idea management platform designed to support teambuilding for interdisciplinary research;
  • Planning faculty travel to visit funding agencies in DC and KC where we can meet with program directors;
  • Working with the college’s Strategic Planning Committee to make CALS priorities become actionable initiatives. You’ll hear more on that soon, and we’ll share ways you can influence that process.

Enjoy your summer.
